| How to Find Us |
From the ferry at Stromness
Turn right as you leave the ferry. After 400m turn right
at the cross-roads. Follow the road up and over the hill
then turn right at the T-junction.
(Look for seals on your left as you cross a small bridge)
Stay on this road, look for Maeshowe on your left and Tormiston
Mill on your right. 1.4 miles/ 2.2km miles after Tormiston
Mill turn left onto the A986 Dounby road.
after ½ mile / 0.9km, look out for a house on your left
with a glass dome greenhouse and turn down the single track
road -signposted Grimeston - beside this house. Follow round
a left hand bend (½ mile / l km) and you soon (300m) come
to a right-hand bend with a sign for Rickla. turn left onto
a track, carry on past Virginia Cottage to the house at
the end.

From the airport at Kirkwall
Turn right as you exit the airport follow the A960 to Kirkwall.
Do not turn off the road and you will arrive in the centre
of Kirkwall with the Cathedral on your right. Turn left
( compulsory) at the Clydesdale Bank and turn right at the
next cross-roads. (Ford dealer on your right). Continue
past the Post Office and after 200m you come to T-junction
with a small round-about. Take the road to the left.
Keep on this road, cross another small roundabout, past
the Esso station on your left and continue to Finstown.
1½ miles / 2.3 km after Finstown turn right onto the A986
Dounby road.
After ½ mile / 0.9km look for a house on your left with
a glass dome greenhouse and turn down the single track road
-signposted Grimeston - beside this house. Follow round
a left hand bend (½ mile / l km) and you soon (300m) come
to a right-hand bend with a sign for Rickla'. turn left
onto a track, carry on past Virginia Cottage to the house
